Sparks Co-Performers of the Week: 8/4 – 8/10

The Sparks went 3-1 last week, thanks to key contributions throughout the roster, led by Co-Performers of the Week Dearica Hamby and Kelsey Plum.

Hamby averaged 17.8 points and 5.5 rebounds, shooting 65.9% (29-for-44 FG) from the field and 92.3% (12-for-13 FT) from the free-throw line. 

Plum posted 16.8 points and 6.8 assists per game, converting 45.5% from the field and 39.1% from 3-point range. 

On Tuesday against the Fever, Plum posted 25 points, a game-high 11 assists and a game-high +15 rating, recording her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career. The eighth-year guard’s performance tied the WNBA record with five consecutive games of at least 20 points and five assists. 

On Thursday against Connecticut, Hamby scored a game-high 21 points (8-for-11 FG, 5-for-6 FT), tallying five rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes of play. Plum contributed 18 points (6-for-12 FG, 3-for-7 3PT) and dished five assists to secure the Sparks’ season sweep against the Sun and earn L.A. its eighth win in nine games. 

In the first game of a back-to-back at Golden State last Saturday, Hamby notched a team-high 15 points (5-for-8 FG, 1-for-1 3PT,  4-for-4 FT) against the Valkyries, matching her career high for scoring in a quarter with all 15 coming in the third.

Returning home on Sunday to face the Storm, the Wake Forest alumna registered 19 points (8-for-13 FG, 3-for-3 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks and a game-high-tying +13 rating. Plum added 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds, moving into a tie for second place on the franchise’s single-season list for most 20-point games.

On the season, Hamby is averaging 17.6 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 1.5 SPG while shooting 57.0% from the floor. The 11th-year veteran ranks in the top 10 in points, rebounds and steals through 31 games.

Meanwhile, Plum is averaging 19.8 PPG, 6.1 APG and 1.2 SPG, shooting 41.4% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc. The 2025 All-Star also leads the Sparks in free-throw percentage at 90.6% and ranks in the WNBA’s top three in points, assists and three-pointers made this season.
