Sparks Performer of the Week (July 7 – 13) – Kelsey Plum
Veteran guard Kelsey Plum is the Sparks Performer of the Week after averaging 20.0 points, 7.5 assists, and 2.0 steals over her two home games last week. The four-time All-Star shot 57.1% (12-for-21) from the field, 50% (6-for-12) from three (6-for-12) and 100% (10-of-10) on free throws.
On Thursday against the Lynx, Plum posted 17 points and a season-high 12 assists, marking her sixth career double-double and first of the season. In the contest, she tied Ivory Latta for 15th all-time in three-pointers made with her third of the game and 536th of her career.
On Sunday against the Sun, the star guard recorded 23 points (8-for-14 FG, 3-for-7 3PT, 4-for-4 FT), three assists, two steals and a +10 rating. Plum also moved into sole possession of 15th on the WNBA’s all-time three-pointers made list with her first triple of the game in the first quarter.
This season, the Spark is averaging 20.1 PPG 5.8 APG, and 1.4 SPG. Plum ranks third in the WNBA in points per game, three-pointers made per game and free throws made per game, sixth in assists per game and seventh in free-throw percentage. She will be competing in her fourth All-Star Game next weekend in Indianapolis.
