Sparks vs. Liberty (June 21) – 30 Seasons Celebration Game Preview

The Sparks host the 11-5 Liberty (5 p.m. PT) in a celebration of 30 years since the franchises played in the first-ever WNBA game. The 2024 champs rank third in FG% (46.1) and fourth in 3PT% (35.9) while boasting the fourth-fewest points allowed per game (82.6) and opponent FG% (42.8). Los Angeles enters having won three of five but losers of its past two contests. 

Breanna Stewart leads the team in scoring at 19.5 points per game, also posting 8.9 rebounds per game, ranking top 10 league-wide in each. 

Sabrina Ionescu will be playing in her fifth game of the season after dealing with both foot and back injuries to start the year. Ionescu has averaged 16.6 points per game for her career along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.  

Jonquel Jones has been a stalwart for the Liberty, averaging 9.1 rebounds and 2.0 stocks (steals plus blocks) per game. The former MVP is also averaging 13.9 points per game this season.
