Sparks Terminate Hardship Contracts of Bria Holmes and Karlie Samuelson

LOS ANGELES The Los Angeles Sparks terminated the hardship contracts of Bria Holmes and Karlie Samuelson, the team announced today.

The Sparks first signed Holmes to a training camp contract on Feb. 19, 2021. Holmes made the opening day roster before being waived on June 28. The Sparks re-signed her on June 30 and she played for the team through July 11. In total, Holmes appeared in 17 games for the Sparks this season, starting five. She averaged 4.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and shot 32.6% from the field in 18.4 minutes per game.

The Sparks also terminated the hardship contract of Karlie Samuelson. She was first signed on June 4 before being released on June 29. The team brought her back on June 30 for the remainder of the team’s games before the Olympic Break. Samuelson has appeared in 10 games for the Sparks, starting three, and has averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game.
