Sparks Face Fire for First Time in Regular Season Since 2002 – Game Preview

The Portland Fire head to Los Angeles to take on the Sparks for the teams’ first regular season meeting since 2002. L.A. holds an 8-1 record against Portland all-time, with each team looking to end a losing streak.

Sarah Ashlee Barker is averaging an efficient 10.4 points per game, shooting 52.7% from the field and 48.6% from three. Barker makes her return to Los Angeles after spending her rookie year with the Sparks. 

Bridget Carleton’s 13.9 points per game rank second on the team, and her 2.0 steals average stands top three in the league. The Iowa State product is a veteran voice for the young roster in her eighth WNBA season. 

Carla Leite leads the way for the Fire with 14.4 points and 5.1 assists per game, a key contributor for the newly revived franchise.
