Sparks Re-Sign Tierra Ruffin-Pratt

LOS ANGELES  The Los Angeles Sparks are excited to announce the re-signing of guard/forward Tierra Ruffin-Pratt. Last season, Ruffin-Pratt appeared in all 34 games for the Sparks, starting 33, and was one of the team’s top defenders. She averaged 6 points per game and shot a career-high 34.2% on 3-pointers. She’s currently playing overseas in Poland.

“Tierra Ruffin-Pratt joined our organization last year and immediately established an identity for herself as a tough defender and a great teammate,” Managing Partner and Governor Eric Holoman said. “We’re happy she’ll be continuing her career here in Los Angeles.”

Ruffin-Pratt first joined the Sparks as a free agent during the 2019 offseason. Last year, she was one of the Sparks most consistent contributors playing a career-high 25.2 minutes per game. She routinely guarded the opponents best perimeter player and hit key shots on the offensive end. On July 23, 2019, she tallied career-high’s in points (23) and 3-pointers made (6) to help the Sparks to a road victory.

Prior to joining the Sparks, Ruffin-Pratt played for the Washington Mystics from 2013-2018 after going undrafted in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She appeared in 22 playoff games for D.C., including the 2018 WNBA Finals. In her seven WNBA seasons, she’s started 145 times and played in 233 regular season games. For her career, she’s averaged 6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

Ruffin-Pratt played collegiately at the University of North Carolina and is from Alexandria, Virginia.
