Gray signed to training camp contract

LOS ANGELES (February 21, 2023) – The Los Angeles Sparks announced today the signing of forward Reshanda Gray to a training camp contract.

“We’re excited Reshanda has joined the Sparks,” said Sparks CAO & GM Karen Bryant. “Her WNBA experience, size and physicality will be valuable to us.”

Gray has played in 141 career games (16 starts) in six WNBA seasons with Minnesota, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Phoenix. She holds career averages of 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.3 steals. During the 2022 WNBA season, she played in 11 games for Seattle, averaging 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds and 16 games for Phoenix, averaging 2.0 points and 1.8 rebounds.

“Reshanda is a veteran, physical post player that competes hard,” said Head Coach Curt Miller. “She will bring great energy and effort to the court and a positive attitude into our locker room.”

The Los Angeles native attended the University of California, Berkley, playing two seasons alongside Sparks guard Layshia Clarendon. Gray was drafted 16th overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2015 WNBA Draft.

“From growing up in South Central, LA to rocking the purple and gold again, there’s no greater feeling,” said Gray. “I’m so blessed with the opportunity to play in front of an amazing fanbase and a city I love so much. I’m so happy to be back home! Let’s go!”
