The Los Angeles Sparks are proud to report a six percent increase in average viewership from the 2017 season to the 2018 season on Spectrum SportsNet. The network aired 24 games during the season, with the highest ratings coming on Friday June 15th when the Sparks defeated the Washington Mystics in the nation’s capital.

In addition, the Sparks saw a 50 percent increase in ratings within the age group of 25-54, demonstrating the growth of both the Sparks and the WNBA as the league had the highest ratings for nationally televised games on ESPN2 since 2014.

These numbers are encouraging as the Sparks entered the 2017 season as defending WNBA Champions and were still able to add viewers in 2018, a year removed from holding that title. After a regular season many analysts are calling the most competitive in WNBA history, the Sparks expect ratings and viewers to climb even higher in 2019.
