LA Sparks Guard Lexie Brown Signs Contract Extension

The Los Angeles Sparks today announced that Lexie Brown has signed a two-year contract extension. In her second season with the Sparks last year, she averaged 12.4 points, 2.4 assists and shot 41.5 percent from three-point range. Per team policy, the terms of the agreements were not released.

“This is such a surreal moment for me. Anyone familiar with my career knows that it hasn’t always been easy and finding a home with the Sparks organization has been such a blessing,” said Brown. “They have allowed me to be myself and walk in my light since day one. I’m really excited for the future and being a veteran leader of this super talented team. I can’t thank everyone in the organization enough for believing in me and supporting me. This is an opportunity that I’ve been waiting for and working so hard for.”

In six seasons in the league, the 5-foot-9 guard has averaged 6.1 points, 1.7 assists and shot 33.7 percent from long range in 18.5 minutes a game. Brown was selected ninth overall to the Connecticut Sun in the 2018 draft out of Duke University, and has also played for the Minnesota Lynx (2019-2020) and the Chicago Sky where she won a championship in 2021. In two seasons with Los Angeles, she has ranked in the top 10 in the WNBA in three-point percentage.

“Having Lexie continue her journey as a Spark was a priority to us. Her talent on the court as well as her commitment to impacting our culture and community are valued,” said general manager Raegan Pebley. “I know Sparks fans will share in our excitement to continue to see her in purple and gold!”
