LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Sparks today announced a partnership with EquiTrust Life Insurance Company as the marquee sponsor for the 2015 season.
“The partnership between EquiTrust and the Sparks is a perfect fit as both organizations are committed to the interests of our fans, and believe in delivering long-term results with excellence and integrity,” said Sparks President and Chief Operations Officer Christine Simmons. “In partnership with EquiTrust, we are proud to deliver the LA tradition of excellence our community deserves on and off the court.”
Under the agreement, the EquiTrust logo will appear on all Sparks home and road jerseys, throughout STAPLES Center on Sparks home game days, on the step and repeat backdrop, across all social and digital platforms and as the driving force behind the new charitable leadership youth program, Driven2Hoop.
“Our partnership with the Sparks will provide EquiTrust with an opportunity to support our communities through service, outreach and innovation,” stated Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Majority Shareholder of EquiTrust. “We firmly believe in the power of women and in providing this unparalleled platform at the highest level. We look forward to an exciting season, and to celebrating the fans, players and community in this sports mecca of Los Angeles.”
The Los Angeles Sparks “Driven2Hoop” program, presented by EquiTrust, provides underprivileged youth an opportunity to develop core social and leadership skills through a speaker series and mentor program. The Driven2Hoop program will allow a total of 600 youth in the Greater Los Angeles area to enjoy a Sparks game and learn from the organizations’ business and basketball leaders at select games during the 2015 season. The Driven2Hoop program includes: a Sparks game ticket, bus transportation to and from STAPLES Center, food vouchers for use during the game and a Driven2Hoop t-shirt.
With today’s announcement, the Sparks are now the eighth team in the WNBA to have a marquee partnership.
The Los Angeles Sparks tip-off its 2015 WNBA home schedule on Sunday, June 14 vs. the Seattle Storm at 2:00 pm at STAPLES Center. For Sparks season and group tickets, in all lower-bowl sections of STAPLES Center, call 844-GO-SPARKS or visit LASparks.com.
