Ready…Break – Let’s Decorate!
The Sparks Need Your Help!

The Summer Design House is here! Join us as we continue ours efforts to better the community around us.

We will be working in partnership with the Salvation Army Way In Youth Services in Hollywood on a redecoration project for 16 former foster youth who, after aging out of the system, found themselves homeless at 18. All 16 are now employed and living in their first apartments – another huge milestone on their path to self-sufficiency!

For Additional Background: the Salvation Army Way In Youth Services in Hollywood is home to many of the 8,000 homeless youth who sleep on the streets of LA each night. Launched in 1994, the Way In campus opened its doors to help children escape Hollywood street life and provide a home-like environment in which abused and/or neglected teenagers could live or drop-in safely as they matured into productive and independent young adults. Way In programming benefits include warm meals, living quarters, and psychological counseling. As a result of these services, young people living on the fringes of LA society have a place to call home.

Erin received her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University and then continued on to the Master of Interior Architecture program at the University of California in Los Angeles.

In 2013, she struck out on her own after having worked full-time designing and project managing for some of the top designers in Los Angeles. Erin’s goal then and now is still the same… create a space which fulfills the need of the client and which improves their quality of life. She hopes to bring her creativity, inspiration, and passion together to design something truly special and unique for each client and anyone else who experiences their space.

Kristen is instrumental in every part of the design process–from assessing clients’ needs, creating construction documents, project supervision, to material and furniture selection. Kristen brings a thoughtful and spirited approach to her designs, and is dedicated to crafting spaces that meet the client’s needs but also exceed their expectations. By combining a modern clean-lined aesthetic with vintage pieces, she curates spaces that feel collected over a period of time. Kristen has the ability to take any vague idea that a client has and turn into a functional and cultivated haven.

Kristen has arrived to her design aesthetic through working at high-end residential firms in San Francisco and all over the Los Angeles area. She has worked at well-known design firms such as Integrafika Design Studio in San Francisco, Turquoise Interior Design and Kathryn M. Ireland. She also worked as a junior designer at Idea Space Design in Beverly Hills where she assisted with the project management of many stylish projects in the Shoreham Towers and Sierra Towers in West Hollywood. She is creatively inspired and invigorated by travel, exploring an ever changing Los Angeles, and a passionate supporter of the arts.

Born and raised in New York City, Ingham moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the Claremont Colleges where she studied theater. Ingham’s love for interiors first translated into set design, allowing her imagination and love for design to thrive. Ingham co-founded and ran a theater company for ten years, an experience that solidified her passion for creating spaces as well as discovering the importance of lighting in an environment.

Designing for the theater world progressed to designing real homes. Assisting such interior legends as Suzanne Rheinstein and Joe Nye, Ingham found her true expression in interior design. This led to Ingham’s namesake boutique in West Hollywood from 2006-2009, a flagship for her eclectic colorful look – a mix of antiques & modern finds, and bold graphic patterns.
While working on interiors and sourcing pieces for her own shop, Ingham found it difficult to find one of the most important elements: good lighting. Therefore she began creating her own custom pieces for her clients, and a new journey began. The first design was called the Ingham Hall Lantern, a steel and glass box with a single downward light on a French chain – a classic and universal design that generated a whole collection. Each fixture is hand crafted by artisans in Los Angeles, and are available in custom sizes and finishes. The collection is available through the Ames Ingham website and Harbinger LA.

Ingham was featured on the cover of Domino Magazine in 2008. Her boutique was praised in the LA Times, C Magazine and several distinguished shelter publications. Elle Decor featured Ingham’s work on actor Megan Mullally’s Hollywood home in 2010. In addition to completing new residential projects, Ingham is expanding her lighting collection with new designs to be launched in late 2014.
