Michael Fischer named Los Angeles Sparks Assistant General Manager

LOS ANGELES, CA – February 15, 2018 – Penny Toler, Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks, today announced Michael Fischer as the new Assistant General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks.

“Michael is going to thrive in his new role as Assistant General Manager. He has extensive knowledge of the women’s basketball landscape including the WNBA, WCBB (college) and International leagues,” said Penny Toler, LA Sparks Executive Vice President & General Manager. “He has worked very closely with me since his arrival to the Sparks. There has never been a job too big or small that he wasn’t willing to do. He is a true example of team first! I’m looking forward to working with him to continue to assist me and the entire organization in our future success.”

Michael will assist the general manager in all aspects concerning the Sparks team including team travel, housing, WNBA Draft, and day to day operations, helping them to maintain a championship culture and first class organization. He will also be responsible for managing and executing all scouting preparation national and international.

Michael Fischer is entering his sixth year with the Los Angeles Sparks. He has previously worked with the Houston Comets, Chicago Sky, Washington Mystics, Gallaudet University, and the University of Minnesota. Michael has worn many hats with his years of experience covering all aspects of Basketball Operations. He is a savvy administrator and relationship builder with everyone inside and outside the organization from players, coaches, staff, and fans.
