Los Angeles Sparks Clinch 2016 Playoff Spot

Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Sparks (20-3) became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2016 WNBA playoffs, continuing its record-setting season by reaching the postseason a league record 16 times in 20 seasons.

The WNBA Playoffs are set to begin on September 21.

Los Angeles will face Washington tonight for its final game before the WNBA Olympic break. The WNBA season resumes August 26 with LA playing four games on the road (Aug. 26 – Sept. 2) before returning to STAPLES Center on September 4 vs. Indiana. With 10 games after the Olympic break, Los Angeles (20-3) has an opportunity to break the franchise record of 28 wins set in 2001, a WNBA championship season for the Sparks.
