Los Angeles Sparks Announce 2023 Schedule

2023 to feature record 40-game regular season schedule including 20 home games
Fans can see Sparks in 10 weekend matchups
Weekday home games to tip-off at 7 p.m. PT

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 30, 2022) – The three-time WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks announced today their 2023 regular season schedule. Entering his first season with the franchise, Head Coach Curt Miller and the Sparks will open the season at home against the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. PT followed by a matchup against the 2022 WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces on May 25 at 7 p.m. PT. New this season, Sparks weekday home games will tip-off 30 minutes earlier at 7 p.m. PT. 

After expanding the regular season in 2022 to 36 games, the WNBA will play a record 40-game regular season, giving Sparks fans a chance to see the team on 20 occasions throughout the summer at Crypto.com Arena. In addition to starting the season at home, the 2023 schedule features a franchise record 10 weekend games (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games) providing greater access for fans. 

“The Sparks are proud to announce a record 20 home games at Crypto.com Arena and 10 weekend home dates for our 2023 season schedule,” said Sparks President Vanessa Shay. “The increase in weekend home games along with moving the weekday home games’ tip to 7pm will create more accessibility for our Sparks fan base. We can’t wait to launch this incredible season with the WNBA opener on May 19 and showcase our incredible athletes at Crypto.com Arena.”

In the 40-game regular season, Los Angeles will face seven opponents, including all five Western Conference teams, four times, twice at home and twice on the road, and four opponents three times- Connecticut (one home and two away), Indiana (one home and two away), New York (two home and one away) and Washington (one home and two away).

The first home game and first road game against each Western Conference opponent counts towards the 3rd Annual Commissioners Cup. Additionally, Los Angeles will compete in one back-to-back this season playing in Phoenix on June 2 and then returning home on June 3 to take on the Seattle Storm.

The Sparks have two homestands of at least four games. The first being a five-game homestand with two games against the Minnesota Lynx (6/16 and 6/20), one game against the Connecticut Sun (6/18) and two games against the Dallas Wings (6/23 and 6/25). The second four-game homestand comes in July with consecutive two-game series against the Indiana Fever, who hold the first overall draft pick, and the New York Liberty.

The Sparks end the season with a two-game East Coast trip where they’ll take on the Sun (9/5) and the Liberty (9/7) before ending the regular season in Seattle (9/10).
