The Los Angeles Sparks are supporters of the Global Citizen campaign, a collective effort to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030. Founded in 2012, Global Citizens from around the world have engaged in over ten million separate actions to combat poverty.

Global Citizen Platform Goals & Actions:
  1. Educate the general public on the needs of underserved populations around the world.
  2. Take action on social issues by making phone calls to legislators, getting involved with local and international charities working with underserved populations, signing petitions, retweeting and resharing advocacy-focused messages and photos on social media, and sending social impact-driven emails to friends and family.
  3. Reward the numerous beneficial actions performed by Global Citizens through special Influencer experiences.

Via the Global Citizen campaign platform, the Sparks are creating unique experiences to galvanize our community to become more socially conscious and active. The Sparks’ very own Candace Parker, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chelsea Gray led the way for the team during last year’s effort.
Per Global Citizen post-campaign reporting, our organization elicited an above-average social impact response in our areas of focus: Women and Girls Empowerment, Access to Education for All, and Access for All to Healthy, Safe Water and Sanitation.
