LOS ANGELES, CA – February 7, 2017 – The Los Angeles Sparks’ Executive Vice President and General Manager Penny Toler announced today the signing of forward Tiffany Jackson-Jones. Per team policy, contract details were not disclosed.
“We are really looking forward to Tiffany joining the team,” said Penny Toler, Los Angeles Sparks’ Executive Vice President and General Manager. “She brings veteran presence to the team on both ends of the floor.”
The 6-foot-3 forward is currently playing in Israel for Maccabi Ashdod and is averaging 16.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Named All-American at The University of Texas, Jackson-Jones was the #5 pick in the first round of the 2007 WNBA Draft by New York Liberty. She has spent a total of 8 years in the WNBA with both NY Liberty (2007 – 2009) and Tulsa Shock (2010 – 2016), averaging 6.8 PPG and 4.9 RPG with career high 12.4 PPG in 2011.
“We are excited that Tiffany will be in training camp with us this spring,” said Sparks Head Coach Brian Agler. “She has showed a tremendous amount of resiliency to get back on the court. Tiffany is a very aggressive offensive player that defends and rebounds well. We love her mobility.”
