Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 6, 2018) – Los Angeles Sparks starting point guard Chelsea Gray will be hosting the second annual “Gray Matters Shoe Giveaway” presented by Adidas at Safe Place for Youth on Thursday, Sept. 13th from 1:30-4:30 p.m. PT. Gray will be on hand in Venice to donate shoes to homeless families and youth.
“It’s important to be active in the community and give back,” said the two-time All Star Gray. “Doing this event annually allows me to help kids, and bring smiles to their faces. Everyone smiles when they get a new pair of shoes.”
Safe Place for Youth, located at 2469 S. Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291, has several services for youth development in a safe, supportive environment such as health and wellness, education and employment, street outreach, case management and drop-in services. Gray currently serves on the board of directors for the organization.
Donations: The Sparks are still accepting shoe donations (with a need for youth sizes) until September 12th during business hours at their offices at 5120 Goldleaf Circle, Los Angeles, CA 90056.
